Cape Challenge World Record Broken

fly2help are thrilled to announce that Steve Noujaim has broken the WORLD RECORD for flying a Light Aircraft from London to Cape Town and back. Nouj has smashed the record beating Henshaw's 1939 record by over half a day and beating Chalkie Stobbart's flight last year by 4 hours. Nouj has flown to Cape Town and back in 3 days 11 hours and 15 minutes - a mammoth effort. His hard work and enthusiasm has been rewarded and he can feel rightly proud of what is a magnificent flying achievement. Congratulations Nouj from everyone at fly2help and thank you for choosing us as your charity.

Now it is fly2help's turn to pick up the gauntlet as Nouj's official record breaking charity; we intend to turn Nouj's epic journey into learning packages for all age groups so that using the record breaking flight as a framework we can make learning interesting, real and relevant. Our plan is to incorporate all the different elements of the flight, the planning, the engineering, geography and climatology of the areas flown over and the physiological challenges faced by Nouj into learning packages tailored for specific age groups and designed to dovetail with the school syllabi.

We would like to offer a heartfelt Thank You to Nouj for supporting fly2help via this incredible challenge. His success has so far raised nearly £800 for the charity and the challenge has also brought with it great credibility for fly2help's future educational programmes. Thank you Nouj and once again our enormous Congratulations!
