Ian Welton is the fly2help Ironman for 2008
Massive Congratulations are in order for Ian Welton who completed the UK Ironman Triathlon 2008 on 7th September at Sherborne Castle in Dorset, in support of fly2help in association with the Wealth of Happiness Foundation.
In preparation for the event Ian, 29 and father of three, undertook a gruelling daily training schedule with Saturdays as his only day off to spend time with his family.
After entering the chilly waters of the Castle lake at 6.00 am on Sunday morning, 1300 competitors swam 2.4 miles, cycled 112 miles then ran a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles. Ian completed the course to finish 196th in his class, which was a fantastic achievement.
A massive 'thank you' and 'well done' goes out to Ian from all at fly2help for his monumental efforts swimming, cycling and running round the Dorset countryside. A well deserved rest is now in order!
