£9,000 Raised at Aviation Photographic Exhibition
On Saturday 21st July, fly2help
were proud to present a fundraising exhibition and sale of
images taken by leading aviation photographer Jamie Hunter.
Jamie is massively experienced in the art of capturing the
dynamic world of flight through photography. He has flown
in, and photographed, some of the world's most potent fast
jets, as well as classic aircraft, helicopters, airliners,
aerobatic teams (including the RAF Red Arrows Display Team)
and general aviation types. His work is published in the world's
leading aviation journals and has attracted an esteemed customer
base. Jamie is a constant and invaluable supporter of the
Foundation and, as well as donating limited
edition pictures (signed by himself and the pilots) for the
auction, he has also very generously donated all sale profits
from the evening to the
Foundation.
The evening was a tremendous success despite guests having
to fight against the worst floods Gloucestershire has seen
in many years. Although many people were unable to attend
due to floods and road closures, thankfully many guests still
managed to get through to enjoy a marvellous evening that
raised just over £9000!!
In addition to the wonderful exhibition of Jamie's work and
an exciting auction, we also enjoyed a superb display from
the Royal Navy Historic Flight Sea Fury and two excellent
presentations from Eurofighter Typhoon Test Pilot, Craig Penrice
on 'Early Testing Experiences - Personal Recollections of
a Test Pilot' and Tornado F3 Navigator, Squadron Leader Gareth
Littlechild on 'Defending the Skies'.
The atrocious weather unfortunately delayed the arrival of
the BBMF until Sunday morning but their special visit to Kemble
was more than worth the wait, with an amazing arrival of the
Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster. The lucky winning bidder
of the main auction lot also got to enjoy the rare and privileged
opportunity of a guided up-close and personal tour of the
aircraft - Congratulations Emma-Claire!
The weekend was finished off nicely by two breath-taking
departures of the BBMF and Sea Fury.
We would like to offer our sincere and special thanks to

support:
