| Fundraising Success
at Battle of Britain Ball!
Friday 12th October was a great night for fly2help.
One of our committee members, Craig Penrice, organised a Battle
of Britain Ball at the Grand Hotel, Lytham St Annes, Lancashire.
Craig, who was a Test Pilot on the Eurofighter Typhoon, is
a highly committed and enthusiastic supporter of fly2help
and organising Balls on our behalf has become one of his specialities!
All tickets were sold out with around 130 guests from all
over the UK. With guests clad in Black Tie and evening gown,
the evening started with a Champagne Reception and canapés,
followed by two highly emotive Battle of Britain readings,
fantastic video footage and a delicious three course dinner.
The fundraising started with a complete sell out of raffle
tickets - prizes included golf clubs, champagne, pens, model
planes, games and many more! Following the meal, Craig auctioned
a number of high value gifts such as a signed Red Arrows picture,
a flight simulation experience and signed Flight Squadron
pictures.
Overall, the ticket sales combined with the fundraising activities
on the night raised over £5100.
Huge thanks to Craig for his super efforts and to all guests
who attended the Ball and helped raise a fantastic sum of
money for fly2help!
