£2108.00 Raised
for fly2help
at a Beach Party - Congratulations to Neil on his 1st Anniversary
of AV8 Management www.av8kemble.co.uk
Five tonnes of sand and a surf riding machine were
installed in a marquee at AV8 on Saturday 26th January to
help a Beach Party go with a swing. Whilst raising funds for
fly2help,
over 100 guests enjoyed a beach barbecue themed meal to celebrate
one year of AV8 management under proprietor Neil Griffiths.
The Festive Season is over and January can seem a flat, tedious,
tiresome month, with dark evenings and temperatures still
in the minuses; so how do you beat those 'January Blues'?
You hold a beach party...YEEHHAAA!...great fun!
And that's exactly what Neil Griffiths of AV8 did...it was
an evening filled with laughter and games, that was enjoyed
by a restaurant full of people clad in bikinis, swimsuits,
hula skirts, Hawaiian shirts and wetsuits...quite a sight
on a cold evening in mid-January!
The cold didn't make a difference for long; with everyone
warmed by a mouth-watering BBQ and dancing to the beat-grooving
Reggae band, everyone soon warmed up; however, it didn't stop
there! Oh no...that afternoon four tons of sand had been shovelled
by hand to create a beach volleyball court, alongside which
an electronic surf board offered another great opportunity
for those competitive bods to challenge others to a competition
after a few drinks had been enjoyed. No injuries were sustained
although several rather amusing dismounting techniques were
witnessed!
To also add the warming of the evening was the fact that
Neil had nominated fly2help
to be his charity for the night and as such, allowed us to
hold a raffle and an auction to raise funds for the
Foundation. £5 of each ticket sold
was also donated direct to the charity as well.
Thank you to ALL who came along and made the party so much
fun. Thanks to everyone's generosity, the fundraising finished
at a grand total of £2108.00
The fly2help
team would like to offer their sincere thanks to Neil and
all the staff of AV8 for such an entertaining, well organised
and all round splendid evening; for so generously donating
a meal for two as a raffle prize, and for allowing fly2help
to share in the anniversary celebrations.
We would also like to thank the below people for the generous
item donations for the raffle and auction. Thanks to:

trial lesson in a Cessna 172.
