Childrens Hospice Flies to Disneyland Resort Paris for a Magical Adventure - with a Special Visit from Lewis Hamilton, Bombardier Learjet Brand Ambassador
Farnborough TAG Airport, December 10th 2007
On Monday 10th December fly2help
hosted an event that sprinkled fairy-dust over a group of
very special and brave families. Chase Hospice supports families
with children who have life-limiting illnesses and this adventure
proved to everyone that these children need not be limited,
and that life is most definitely for living!
Thanks to the generosity of Bombardier Skyjet International's
partners Cirrus Aviation and Sovereign Air, TAG Aviation,
RAF Odiham and many other contributors, six children from
Chase, three siblings and eleven parents enjoyed an adventure
that will never be forgotten.
The VIP day started with the children leaving at 07:00 hrs
by Chinook Helicopter from Loseley Park to Farnborough TAG
Airport. Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton kindly gave his time
to accompany the families on-board the Chinook, giving them
the chance to engage with him amidst great excitement. Also
on board the Chinook were fly2help
staff, Chase carers, GMTV's Michael Underwood and camera crew,
plus Bombardier representatives.
A 'meet and greet' party was arranged on arrival at Farnborough,
where all those from the Chinook were joined by Father Christmas
in a specially prepared Christmas-themed room which was a
magical backdrop for a light breakfast. Meanwhile Lewis chatted
and made new friends with the awestruck children (and parents
alike!) as well as signing t-shirts and caps that the children
had received with assorted other goodies courtesy of reindeer
mail - Father Christmas wouldn't arrive empty-handed after
all!
Lewis, Father Christmas and many others were there to wave
the excited party off as children and families later departed
for Disneyland Paris. Transport via Bombardier Skyjet private
jets provided a thrilling and luxurious ride to Paris Le Bourget.
The anticipation mounted and faces were shining brightly as
they were welcomed into Disneyland Resort for the next part
of their VIP experience day.
Disneyland Resort Paris arranged for a VIP guided tour of
the resort, including lunch, time with characters, two magical
rides and VIP seating to watch the Christmas Parade.
The jets returned to Farnborough Airport that evening, full
of tired but elated guests who couldn't stop talking
about their day. Extra goodies and souvenirs had been amassed...so
much so, we nearly required another coach to transport it
all home!
The aim of the day was to quite simply sprinkle fairy-dust
over a group of extraordinary people, to see their smiles
and to hear the laughter of all those who so bravely face
the future. Did it work? Just have a look at the evidence!
It truly was a magical adventure for everyone to cherish and
remember!
