Gloucestershire Airport hosted it’s 5th Meteor Mile race along the main runway last Saturday. This event is organised by the Cheltenham based running club, Almost Athletes. The race starts as the airport closes and the runners head along the lit runway as dusk to finish outside the Terminal Building.
Fly2help helped organise the event and Douglas Bear, our charity mascot, even took part this year.
Over 200 runners took part in this popular event with a winning time of 4 minutes and 38 seconds. All the runners were awarded a medal in the shape of a Meteor for their efforts.
It was a great event and we are looking forward to the event next year where hopefully Douglas can improve on his time.
A Run Together group has been formed called Run2Help where the group meet at the fly2help offices on Monday and Tuesday for all runners from beginners to improvers. £2 per session is donated to fly2help and so far have raised enough money to run Air Smiles Days for three families. groups.runtogether.co.uk/Run2Help
