Cirencester Deer Park School Pupils - Air Smiles Day 21st July 2008
Six pupils from Cirencester Deer Park School were nominated for a special reward by their pastoral co-ordinator, Cathie Cowell. They had all worked well during the year and overcome many obstacles presented to them. fly2help were delighted to be able to take them flying!
The
children, all aged 15, plus Cathie and Assistant Head Sally
Groves, arrived in time for breakfast at AV8 Restaurant. The
aircraft and pilot originally booked for the event were sadly
unavailable at the last minute, but Ollie Heynes of Cotswold
Helicopters generously stepped in and saved the day for us.
He flew the children and teachers in 3 groups of 3 and they
were all thrilled to fly over their school and homes! We also
took the children to visit the Control Tower and Fire Station.
Cathie Cowell wrote: "I can't say thank you enough for the most amazing morning. The pupils had a wonderful experience and haven't stopped chatting about it. They have all had something that they will remember for the rest of their lives. The day gave them an experience they will never forget and has broadened their horizons."
