Air Smiles Day 20th September 2008
On 20th September two boys who suffered abuse and neglect as young children, were taken flying by fly2help.
They had a wonderful day at Kemble, flying with Sir John Allison in his V-Tail Bonanza. Sir John insisted that he took them up for 2 flights so that both boys could experience sitting up front with the pilot - and they were both given the chance of taking the controls!
They also visited Air Traffic Control and the Fire Station, and had lunch at AV8.
"These are two boys who suffer from very low self-esteem and it was a joy to see them gain confidence and trust from the experience. Sir John Allison was so encouraging and gave the boys the self-assurance to pilot the plane. I know that the boys will remember their day forever."
The boys said "The best day ever" and "The whole day was amazing".
