Air Smiles Day 18th May 2008
The 18th May was a very special day for two 9 year old boys and and their foster parents. They all experienced a magical flight over the Severn Bridges, up the Wye Valley and back to Kemble. They were accompanied by a cameraship for that magical and rare 'formation' experience which added to many other precious photographs for their personal memory box.
After the flight the boys helped return the aircraft into the hangar, and they were given a tour of the Control Tower - which initiated a lot of questions from the boys - maybe some future pilots in the making! After a delicious lunch at AV8 Restaurant, another highlight was a visit to the Fire Station where they were enjoyed the freedom and fun of climbing upon the fire truck, trying on helmets and uniforms for size and sounding the alarm!
They had this to say about their day:
"The day exceeded our expectations. The boys' confidence was given a huge boost. We have wonderful memories of the day: meeting Mandy, who is an inspiration to us all, and everyone else involved in the day. All our dreams came true and it was a day we will never forget, especially your kindness - they are very special children. We thank each and every one - including our pilot. The sky is the limit!"
